Your AgentSmith agent already runs on our servers. The desktop app gives you a full window onto it: chat, files, scheduled jobs and history. Setup takes about ten minutes, most of it waiting for the installer.
你的 AgentSmith 助手已经在我们的服务器上运行。桌面应用为你提供一个完整的窗口：聊天、文件、定时任务和历史记录。安装大约需要十分钟，大部分时间是等待安装程序完成。
Open hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/desktop and download the Windows version. The file is called Hermes-Setup.exe.

Double-click it. The installer downloads its components for a few minutes, then opens Hermes and puts a Hermes shortcut on your desktop.
双击运行。安装程序会用几分钟下载所需组件，然后自动打开 Hermes，并在桌面上创建 Hermes 快捷方式。
If Windows shows a blue box saying it protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.

Open hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/desktop and download the Mac version. The file is called Hermes-Setup.dmg. You need macOS 11 or newer.
打开 hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/desktop，下载 Mac 版本。文件名为 Hermes-Setup.dmg。需要 macOS 11 或更新的系统。
Open the file and run Hermes Setup. It downloads its components for a few minutes, then opens Hermes.

macOS will try to block it. The installer isn't from the App Store, so expect one of these and do the matching step:
macOS 会拦截它。安装程序不是来自 App Store，你会遇到下面某一种提示，按对应方法处理：

These prompts appear once. After the first successful launch, Hermes opens normally. Never lower your Mac's security settings permanently; the steps above only approve this one app.
这些提示只出现一次，第一次成功打开后 Hermes 就会正常启动。不要永久降低 Mac 的安全设置，上面的步骤只是对这一个应用放行。
In the Hermes window, click the gear icon in the top-left corner, right next to the sidebar button. Settings opens. Click the Gateway Connection tab.
在 Hermes 窗口左上角，点击齿轮图标（就在侧边栏按钮旁边），打开设置。然后点击 Gateway Connection 标签。
The app may have started a blank agent on your computer while you were installing. Ignore it. Your real agent is one step away.
安装过程中，应用可能已在你的电脑上启动了一个空白助手。不用理会，你真正的助手只差一步。
Under Connection mode, choose Remote gateway. In the Gateway URL box, paste this address:

Then click Sign in.

A sign-in window opens. Enter the email and password you use with AgentSmith, the same ones as your Command Center login, and click Sign in.
会弹出登录窗口。输入你在 AgentSmith 使用的邮箱和密码（与登录 Command Center 相同），然后点击 Sign in。
No password yet, or forgot it? In that window click Forgot your password? First time here? Set one, enter your email, and open the link we send you. Set a password, come back to Hermes, and click Sign in.
还没有密码，或忘记了？在登录窗口中点击 Forgot your password? First time here? Set one，输入你的邮箱，打开我们发送的链接设置密码，然后回到 Hermes 点击 Sign in。
The window closes by itself and Hermes connects to your agent.
登录窗口会自动关闭，Hermes 随即连接到你的助手。
Done. Type a message in the box at the bottom and your agent answers, with the same memory and skills it has on Telegram or WeChat.
完成。在底部输入框中输入消息，你的助手就会回复，它拥有与在 Telegram 或微信上相同的记忆和技能。
Your agent is configured and maintained by us. The app shows many options because it is built for people who run their own agent. Changing any of these can stop your agent from working, and we then have to repair it:
你的助手由我们配置和维护。应用里选项很多，是因为它本来是给自己运行助手的人用的。改动下面任何一项都可能让你的助手停止工作，然后就需要我们来修复：
The one thing you may change is Effort, the small selector next to the model name at the bottom of the chat (Low, Medium, High, Extra High, Max). Higher effort makes your agent think longer on each message. It is slower and uses noticeably more tokens, which counts toward your usage. Keep it on Medium for everyday work and raise it only for a hard task.
唯一可以改的是 Effort（推理强度），也就是聊天框底部模型名称旁边的小选择器（Low、Medium、High、Extra High、Max）。强度越高，助手每条消息思考得越久，速度更慢，消耗的 token 也明显更多，会计入你的用量。日常使用保持 Medium，只在遇到难题时再调高。
